Enclosure Automatic Thermostat | KTO/KTS & JTO/JTS Dual-Series Thermostats, Build A Stable & Reliable Thermal Control Solution for Cabinets
Publish Time: 2026-10-22 Origin: Site
In enclosed environments such as electrical cabinets, control cabinets and communication boxes, abnormal temperature is a major cause of component aging, equipment shutdown and frequent failures. Proper temperature management is critical to ensuring stable operation of cabinet heaters, cooling fans and signal devices. Linkwell Electric launches two series of automatic thermostats, the KTO/KTS basic model and the JTO/JTS upgraded model. Catering to different operation habits and installation requirements, they adopt mature bimetallic temperature-sensing technology to deliver accurate and long-lasting temperature control for enclosures.
1. Model Selection Guide: Normally Open / Normally Closed, Match Loads as Required
Both series are available in Normally Closed (NC) and Normally Open (NO) contact types, suitable for the two mainstream application scenarios of heating and cooling:
✅ Normally Closed Models (KTO / JTO): The circuit opens once the temperature reaches the set value. They are generally used with cabinet heaters to stop heating when the temperature threshold is reached and avoid overheating inside the cabinet.
✅ Normally Open Models (KTS / JTS): The circuit closes once the temperature reaches the set value. They are mostly used for cooling fans and signal alarm devices to activate heat dissipation or send alerts when the temperature exceeds the limit.
Both series share a unified temperature adjustment range of 0°C~60°C, with a switching differential of ±5K. The bimetallic sensing element realizes automatic circuit on-off. With a mechanical service life of over 100,000 cycles, they can stably carry loads under 250VAC and adapt to continuous operation of industrial cabinets. The IP20 protection rating makes them suitable for cabinet installation.
2. Structural & Operational Differences to Meet On-site Operation Requirements
▶ KTO / KTS Basic Model | Screwdriver Adjustable, Classic & Stable
KTO/KTS is a proven classic thermal control solution. It is adjusted by a flat screwdriver on the central red core, with no exposed manually rotatable outer ring. It fits cabinets with fixed installation positions, low adjustment frequency and anti-misoperation requirements. It is equipped with optimized DIN rail mounting clips, which can be fixed by clipping onto standard 35mm DIN rails for easy assembly and disassembly. Its compact size (64×33×44mm) saves cabinet space. No complicated commissioning is required. Simply turn the central knob with a flat screwdriver to lock the target temperature, effectively preventing accidental parameter changes by on-site personnel. It is widely used in electric control cabinets requiring long-term stable operation.
▶ JTO / JTS Upgraded Model | Dual Adjustment Mode, Reinforced Spring Clip
JTO/JTS is comprehensively upgraded based on the original KTO/KTS. It is a new-generation thermostat balancing flexible commissioning and installation reliability:
Dual adjustment mode: It supports adjustment of the central red core with a flat screwdriver, and allows direct manual adjustment by rotating the outer gear ring. No tools are required, making on-site commissioning and temperature adjustment during inspection much easier and more efficient.
Reinforced spring clip: Unlike the ordinary clip of the basic version, the upgraded spring structure grips the DIN rail more firmly, preventing loosening and falling off under vibration. It is suitable for vibrating working conditions such as travelling machinery and outdoor cabinets.
Authorized certifications: The product holds TÜV and CE certifications. Its production and testing standards comply with specifications for overseas projects, meeting compliance requirements for both domestic and export supporting projects.
Quick Identification Tip: KTO/KTS has no exposed gear ring and can only be adjusted with a screwdriver; JTO/JTS is fitted with a red/blue outer gear adjustment ring and supports dual operation: manual rotation + screwdriver fine-tuning.
3. Unified Core Specifications & Consistent Quality Standards
Flame-retardant PC housing: UL94-V0 flame-retardant material. The hollow heat-dissipating rib design accelerates self-heat dissipation of the thermostat. It features high temperature resistance and aging resistance for harsh industrial environments.
Standard 35mm DIN rail mounting: Both models are compatible with general electrical rails and can be installed side by side with contactors, terminals, relays and other components for neat layout.
Flexible supporting capability: They can independently control heaters, link cooling fans for ventilation, or connect to signal indicators for over-temperature alarms, to flexibly build a complete cabinet thermal control system.
Small size & space-saving: Only 40g in weight with compact dimensions, easy to arrange even in small control cabinets with limited space.
4. Typical Application Scenarios
Widely used in high & low voltage electrical control cabinets, PLC cabinets, communication cabinets, outdoor energy storage boxes, rail transit electrical boxes, HVAC equipment boxes and more:
Low-temperature conditions: Work with heaters to prevent condensation inside cabinets and avoid impacts of low temperature on component startup.
High-temperature conditions: Link cooling fans to discharge accumulated heat in cabinets in time and reduce the operating temperature of electronic components.
Monitoring & alarm: Connect to signal devices to automatically trigger prompts upon over-temperature and avoid faults in advance.
If your project has a long commissioning cycle, frequent on-site temperature adjustments, and you require fast manual tuning and vibration resistance, the JTO/JTS upgraded thermostat is preferred. If the equipment rarely needs parameter modification after commissioning, and you need to prevent unauthorized adjustment while pursuing a cost-effective and stable solution, the KTO/KTS basic thermostat is a reliable choice.
Linkwell Enclosure Thermostats adopt the dual-series solution to cover diverse thermal control requirements. Strict controls are implemented from structural design and material selection to compliance certification, delivering a safe, stable and worry-free temperature control solution for industrial enclosures.
